Enhancing Accountability and Professionalism

When using the services of an estate or letting agent, consumers need confidence that they are being given professional advice they can trust. Property Industry Eye has today reported that the House of Lords Industry and Regulators Committee will this week tell Government that it is now time to properly regulate the estate agency sector.

At The Accommodation Bureau, we recognise the importance of transparency, integrity, and professionalism in our industry. That’s why we support the recommendations by the House of Lords regarding the regulation of property agents. We believe all agents giving advice to landlords and tenants should be qualified and receive ongoing training.

The Need for Regulation - Addressing Malpractice

The committee’s research has shed light on malpractice concerns within the sector. By advocating for mandatory qualifications, we can ensure that all agents adhere to high standards, protecting both landlords and tenants. It is quite alarming that currently anyone can setup a letting agency without any qualifications. This means that consumers cannot be certain they can trust the advice they are receiving. Certainly, every agent’s knowledge is not equal.

The Accommodation Bureau’s Commitment

  1. Qualified Staff: We take pride in our team of expert lettings professionals. 70% of our staff already hold a Level 3 qualification, demonstrating their expertise and commitment to excellence.
  2. Continuous Improvement: All other team members are currently working towards their qualification and new team members start their training in their first week with the company. Our goal is to have a fully qualified team, ensuring that our clients receive the best service possible.

At The Accommodation Bureau, we believe that a regulated estate agency sector benefits everyone. Whether you’re a landlord seeking reliable tenants or a tenant searching for your next home, you can trust us to give you professional advice.
